Thankfully we have seen an enormous amount of growth in our student enrolment here at Hyde Park School. To support these students with the financial, community, and infrastructure needs that are not provided by the district it is up to the PTO Organization to supplement. For us to continue our success we as an organization also need to grow, and we encourage our families to join our mission. Our reach needs to be broad so that we can incorporate the opinions and desires of all parents. We want to ask all of our parents that you please consider joining a committee and help lead our school to success.
Take a look below to find out more about the roles and committees that we need volunteers for each year. If something sparks your interest please click on the link and submit your information and someone from our team will reach out to you. Submitting your name does not mean you are automatically signed up, it simply means that it is something that you may consider and need more information about. Don’t hesitate……find something that you can do to support Hyde Park School!!!

October is all about reading! PTO rolls out our 2nd largest fundraiser of the year with a pledge to read. A month-long celebration that begins with a schoolwide rally, includes cross-grade buddy reading, and is full of fun reading-inspired activities.

We need some volunteers to design and build sets and costumes, organize ticket sales, product sales at the event, etc.
Our HPS Room Coordinators provide a channel of communication between parents and teachers. These parents are a part of the classroom environment in the following areas: Organize class parties, act as the room basket lead for Spring Celebrations, aid in teacher celebration, and assist in any teacher special requests. You are the front line for parents and we all thank you in advance for stepping up to do this!
Adaire Hiestand & TBA (email us if interested!)
Organizes the Fall & Spring conference days meals for staff. Aids the PTO Board in the planning of “Teacher Appreciation” week and provides overall support of activities directly related to HPS staff.

Did you know that the HPS library is staffed by parent volunteers before school starts every morning? It is open to all children during the morning drop-off period. Our greatest need is for parent volunteers who can help children check out books during that window. To volunteer, you should be able to commit to being there one morning a week from about 7:20 to 8:00am. If you’re not able to commit to a morning shift, we can still sometimes use volunteers who have daytime flexibility for special projects like adding new books to the collection and doing inventory. If you’re interested in becoming a library volunteer, please contact maggiemucha@gmail.com.

HPS Socials are fundraiser parties, activities, and special events planned and hosted by parents, teachers/staff, or the PTO.
Assists in soliciting items from local businesses to feature in the silent auction as well as cataloguing/organizing donations for the event, including inputting them into auction software.
Work in combination with HPS students and HPS Art Teacher to create plan for a grade-based art piece to be sold at the Silent Auction.
Works with Room Coordinators, HPS teachers, and parents to collect various donations to be assembled into baskets that are raffled at the Spring Celebration. Typically, Kindergarten parents take this lead as it’s an excellent way to meet other parents and become an active HPS community member!
Communicates with past sponsors as well as sends letters to/communicates with new local businesses in the effort to secure their sponsorship of the Spring Celebration event.
Works with HPS teachers to secure Teacher Experience donations to fundraise for the school. This position provides the details to PTO so that we can showcase these experiences to our families, so they can then “buy/bid” on them.
