Thank you for your interest in volunteer opportunities at Hyde Park School. From field trips to fundraising events, we rely on the energy and time of our Hyde Park School community to make great things happen!
In order to volunteer at HPS one of the following badges is required:
Lobby Guard Badge
One-time visitors receive a temporary security badge with a photo generated by the Lobby Guard machine in the Hyde Park School office. This is for a less active volunteer who would like to attend a class party or event in the classroom when a teacher is present. Please make sure you have your official form of picture identification such as a state ID or driver’s license handy.
Orange CPS “Volunteer” Badge
A person who visits Hyde Park School on a regular basis must obtain a Cincinnati Public Schools security badge. Examples are tutors and room coordinators. This requires a local background check. Local background checks are usually performed in the county where the person has the most recent five years of continuous residence. There is a $5 fee for this check. In Hamilton County, background checks are performed at the Justice Center, 1000 Sycamore Street, downtown. Some official form of picture identification such as a state ID or driver’s license is required.
Purple CPS “Volunteer Plus” Badge
State and federal background checks are required for anyone who might have unsupervised contact with students. It is a requirement for our chaperones for field trips and sports coaches. Individuals must have the state Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCII) check and an FBI fingerprint check. These background checks are also performed at the Justice Center, 1000 Sycamore Street, downtown.
